Waste Wise Field Days
Visitors to the Swan Hill – Murray Downs Field Days are being urged to
“Recycle Right” when they attend the two day showcase on May 6th and 7h.
Working with the Central Murray Regional Waste Management Group, and waste contractor Ellwaste, the Field Days Committee have signed on again to make the event an official ‘Waste Wise event’ which means patrons will have the option to recycle plastic bottles and containers, cans and cardboard at the event.
In order to encourage patrons to put their litter in the bin, both rubbish and recycling bins will be located at various stations around the Field Days site over the two days.
Red and yellow caps will be placed on wheelie bins for your convenience around the site which are coded for rubbish and recycling. Announcements will be made over the duration of the event reminding patrons which items can be placed into the coded bins.
You may place the following items into the RED bins:
• Plastic bags and wrappers (lolly papers, chip packets and ice cream wrappers)
• Food scraps
• Polystyrene and other beverage containers
You may place the following items into the YELLOW bins:
• Plastic bottles and containers
• Glass bottles
• Aluminium Cans
• Tetra packs and milk cartons
• Clean paper and cardboard
