Exhibitor Awards & Site Competition
The Swan Hill-Murray Downs Field Days prides itself on encouraging exhibitor
excellence through their annual awards program which offers trophies for Best
Exhibit, Best New Exhibit, Best Local Exhibit (Swan Hill region) and Most
Innovative Product.
At the last Field Days, the awards were hotly contested with 7 new products registered for the most innovative category, and strong competition for the other three awards.
A difficult decision for the judges, the winners were Sunrise Ag (Best Exhibit), Emmetts Farm Machinery (Best Local Exhibit), Swan Constructions (Best New Exhibit) and Mobile Invitations (Most Innovative Product) for “Print Magic” an alternative printing solution which allows users to make professional printed materials with a laminated look and feel on an inkjet printer.
This year, the competition looks set to be just as fierce, with five products
already registered for the most innovative product award (the only category
requiring pre-registration for entry), including:
• a new power wheel for augers and caravans from J. Leahy & Co Engineering,
• the Southern Cross offroad camper trailer from Outdoors First Swan Hill,
• True Blue Puncture Goo, an Australian made adhesive able to be used in high speed vehicles, quads, tractors, trucks as a prevention or repair,
• a Cab designed for four wheel farm bikes from MF & DF Ryan, and
• Grizzly’s FieldMaster gang disc plough a heavy cultivation machine that
folds both short and narrow in transportation mode, simplifying movement between
paddocks and through gateways.
Always popular with Field Day visitors, the Site Promotion Competition will once again be a feature, with visitors given the opportunity of winning more than $2000 in prizes, simply by visiting each of the displays on the competition sheet and entering the draw for the prize on offer.
Some of the prizes exhibitors are giving away during 2008 include a 1000 litre Poly water tank (Tankworld), an Ecomist Insect Control Dispenser (Bunny Blasters Pty Ltd), an ARB Snatch strap & Adventure light (Swan Hill Offroad/Suzuki), a worm farm (Central Murray Regional Waste Management Group), a Telstra Cordless Phone (Telstra Country Wide), a 450ml bottle of Recharge Battery Revitaliser (Recharge Battery Revitaliser), two clean-up bins (Ellwaste), and Mobil Products (Tasco Inland Australia Pty Ltd)
You can also win a trimmer head (S & R Imports), a box of tubestock plants (Mildura Native Nursery), a hose (Tedes Trading), garden spray (Swan Hill Chemicals), 1 box of True Blue Goo (True Blue Puncture Goo), a 20 litre drum of Delo 400 engine oil (Caltex South East), a family pass, Pyap & Sound & Light tour (Swan Hill Rural City Council/Pioneer Settlement), a stainless Eco Billy (Westvic Kayaks & Kampers), a matching hat, scarf & gloves (Halls Market Hats), a table lamp (Elliott's Electrical) and a 40 piece 1/2 drive socket set (Discount Variety Direct).
Each of the Marquees also has a prize on offer - Wine from Vic Super in the Business Support Marquee, Biogreen Products from Biogreen and Renapur & Wardrobe savers from Cross Bars Renapur in the General Interest Marquee, and two pillows from In Home Therapy in the Craft Marquee.
